OUR STORY

The Orangery is an independent tearoom in Norfolk, nestled in the heart of the countryside near Wymondham. Surprisingly, we are just 15 minutes from the centre of Norwich. Set in the grounds of historic Ketteringham Hall and enjoying lake views, The Orangery is a particularly perfect place to relax and enjoy a coffee or a pot of loose leaf tea with a homemade cake or sweet treat.

Above all, we are a family-owned and run tearoom; we opened our doors for the first time in May 2019. The Orangery was founded on a love of baking and family-feel customer service, and this has only escalated since!

Together with other independent businesses, we operate in a unique position within Ketteringham Hall’s professional community.

YOUR VISIT

Start your day right with breakfast on our terrace! Whether you’d like to enjoy an indulgent breakfast board or classic bacon sandwiches, we have lots to tempt you. We also offer light lunches, featuring a selection of sandwiches and paninis, scotch eggs and sausage rolls. Everything is fresh and made to order!

For an extra special treat why not book a traditional or savoury Afternoon Tea? Brimming with lovingly made delicacies, they are the perfect centrepiece for any celebration. We have plenty of champagne and prosecco waiting in the wings if you wish to elevate your experience even further!

THE SETTING

We welcome our customers to wander the grounds of Ketteringham Hall, but all private signs must be acknowledged and adhered to. The halls’ grounds are private and subsequently not for use by the general public. This means that access is extended only to our tearoom customers during our opening hours. Well-behaved dogs are made welcome on our terrace but must be kept on a lead. This applies both in the vicinity of the tearoom and in the grounds. Water and dog treats are also available!

Due to the historic and unique nature of the building there is currently no wheelchair access to the tearoom, although we will endeavour to assist those with mobility issues wherever possible. Please do contact us if you have any furthers concerns or queries.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the staff that looked after us so beautifully on Saturday afternoon. We all had a lovely time and the food was delicious. Some of the team enjoyed it so much they have bought vouchers or are planning to bring their parents and friends to see you too 😊

Well today has been an absolutely amazing day for my mum, the little lady in the sugar cane Christmas jumper…. In fact some lovely lady passed comment and mums face lit up❤️.

Your staff are amazing and mums sticky toffee cake was gobbled up very quickly.

This is just a message to say thank you and without doubt as long as we can, we will most certainly be bringing back the little lady in 2026….Thank you all & a very merry Christmas to you & your team.

I am writing to say a huge thank you to you and your wonderful team for making my Mum’s 80th afternoon tea on Saturday such a special and memorable occasion.

Everything went to plan, and we were so well looked after by yourselves. I have had so many lovely comments and compliments about your staff, the delicious food, venue and the gorgeous birthday cake.

Thank you so much for everything you did, for all your support when I was making my plans, it was much appreciated, and for being part of creating such a special and treasured memory for my Mum.

Just to say thank you for making my mum’s 90th birthday celebration special on Saturday.

The setting was beautiful on such a lovely day, and please thank Laura for the amazing cake which was absolutely delicious and beautifully decorated.

Your staff were very helpful and attentive and even offered to take group photos outside for us despite probably being hot and tired after a long busy Saturday!

We have had many compliments on the afternoon tea, especially the scones.

So please thank them all for making it so memorable for our family.

I felt compelled to message you and say thank you for such a wonderful breakfast board. I usually miss out on food things because of being dairy free but I honestly didn’t feel like mine was any different to my friends version.

Everything was absolutely delicious and exceeded our expectations. I also really appreciated your call this morning about the power cut. Super service!
