The Orangery is an independent tearoom located in the heart of the South Norfolk countryside, just 15 minutes from the centre of Norwich. Set in the grounds of historic Ketteringham Hall and enjoying lake views, it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a coffee or a pot of loose leaf tea with a homemade cake or sweet treat.

We are a family-owned and run business and doors opened for the first time in May 2019. The Orangery was founded on a love of baking and friendly customer service, which has only escalated!

Our unique position within Ketteringham Hall’s community means that our coffee granules, tea leaves, peelings, and compostable takeaway containers go back into the garden to be composted by the Norfolk School of Gardening in the Walled Garden.

Start your day right with breakfast on our terrace and with options ranging from indulgent breakfast boards to classic bacon sandwiches, we have lots to tempt you. We also offer light lunches with a selection of sandwiches and paninis, with scotch eggs and sausage rolls available too. Everything is fresh and made to order!

For an extra special treat why not book a traditional or savoury Afternoon Tea? Brimming with lovingly made delicacies, they are the perfect centrepiece for any celebration. We have plenty of champagne and prosecco waiting in the wings if you wish to elevate your experience even further!

Our customers are welcome to wander the grounds of Ketteringham Hall, but all private signs must be acknowledged and adhered to. The halls’ grounds are private and not for use by the general public, only by our customers during our opening hours. Well-behaved dogs are made welcome on our terrace but must be kept on a lead. This applies both in the vicinity of the tearoom and in the grounds. Water and dog treats are always available!

Due to the nature of the building there is currently no wheelchair access to the tearoom, however we are working to address this. Please do contact us if you have any concerns or queries.

I have now been back several times to The Orangery and can honestly say it is one of the best tea rooms I have visited, which as a keen cyclist is quite a few. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the food was great, with the exception of the cakes and scones, which are out of this world. It is now firmly on my map to visit as often as I can, an absolute gem for Norfolk.

We booked an afternoon tea for a surprise baby shower and The Orangery were brilliant from start to finish! Fabulous catering for different dietary requirements and excellent value for money as well as the food being delicious!

Will definitely be visiting again and again and again!

Nikki Baker ~ Baby Shower Afternoon Tea, December 2019
Just wanted to say we had a lovely visit on Friday 11 Sept. The location and tea rooms are a lovely setting and the afternoon tea was delicious. We felt very safe and staff were very helpful. It all felt very special.
It was our first visit but now mum knows where you are she will be back for other visits.
Thank you once again, you are providing the opportunity for people to relax and make some happy memories, in what is often a very difficult time.
Best wishes

This is not an enquiry this is a big thank you for the special offer given to those who have been shielding. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon tea we had today. The venue was lovely, the service first class and the food beautifully presented and tasty. And the layout such that we felt safe.

Thank you for this special treat, the first time we have been anywhere to sit, relax and eat since the beginning of March! We have not been to Ketteringham Hall before but we will certainly be back!

Yours gratefully
